Advanced bipolar vessel sealing
The CoolSeal portfolio combines the safety of advanced bipolar RF sealing technology with the precision and versatility of true surgical instruments. It offers practical solutions for a range of procedures that benefit from smaller incisions and a minimal thermal footprint. CoolSeal devices perform with the finesse of surgical instruments and the efficacy of advanced bipolar vessel sealing.
- CoolSeal Trinity: 5 mm laparoscopic sealer, divider and dissector
- Fast, reliable seals with < 1 mm average thermal spread
A true all-in-one surgical instrument
CoolSeal Trinity keeps pace with the surgeon's procedural rhythm, creating fast, reliable seals in vessels up to 7 mm. Its slim, curved, double-action Maryland jaws are designed for precise dissection, grasping and sealing in tight spaces, and to perform with the precision of a traditional Maryland non-energized dissector. The multifunctional jaws limit instrument exchanges and help reduce procedure time.
- Maryland jaws: thin, curved shape, double-action, tip bias
- Rotation knob: 360° jaw rotation
- 5 mm shaft in 30, 37 and 44 cm lengths
- Jaw 20 mm, seal 19 mm, cut 18 mm
- Integrated knife divides tissue on command
Designed for safety, built for speed
CoolSeal Trinity produces consistently strong, secure seals in an average of 1.4 seconds, with less than 1 mm of thermal spread on average and burst strength above 3x systolic pressure. The outer jaws stay cool throughout the procedure, avoiding damage to adjacent critical structures (bowel and vasculature tested), and the inside of the jaws cools quickly after sealing so the surgeon can move to the next task. All CoolSeal devices run on the 50 W CoolSeal generator, which delivers precisely the power needed and automatically discontinues power when the seal is complete.
- Average seal time 1.4 seconds
- < 1 mm average thermal spread
- Average burst pressure > 3x systolic
- Indicated for vessels up to and including 7 mm
- Indicated for pediatric surgery
Clinical experience and da Vinci compatibility
In an initial clinical experience, CoolSeal Trinity was used in 50 surgical procedures by 37 surgeons in 19 hospitals, on patients weighing from 8 kg to 140 kg, and performed safely and as intended across a wide variety of procedures. CoolSeal Trinity is also compatible with the da Vinci E-200 generator, with the CoolSeal sealing algorithm integrated, so it can be used before, during or after a robotic procedure.
- Procedures included colectomy, Nissen fundoplication, sleeve gastrectomy, splenectomy, nephrectomy, lobectomy
- Indicated for adult and pediatric patients
- da Vinci E-200 compatibility requires compatible software
